Yesterday, I was talking with some physicists about how we want to drop out of school and what we'd like to be if we indeed dropped out of school. One guy said he'd want to be a construction worker, or something like that. Very reminiscent of office space, and very cool. Now, I didn't think I had any great ideas at first (well, past the usual idea of following my life-long dream and being a rock star). I didn't think anything would come of it, because I can barely think of what I'd want to do if I stayed in school, much less if I dropped out right now. However, after a moment or two of careful contemplation, it dawned on me. I think I would very much like to be a park ranger. Most all of my favorite vacations have been to national parky places, and I always look at the rangers with their snappy jungle-green outfits and officious-looking hats with envy. I really like being outdoors (except when it's cold and windy), and I like a wide variety of flora and fauna. As a matter of fact, if you catch me unawares at the right time, you might even find me trying to make tittery noises in attempts to communicate with local rabbits and squirrels or doing this whistly thingummer* in hopes of getting birds to respond. But don't ask me about that. Actually, forget it altogether; it puts me in a new weirder sort of light. These sorts of feelings have been around for a long time, but I think they were amplified by a recent visit from the Raptor Rehabilitation Clinic of Kentucky, they put on a little presentation in the lounge at Harrison, complete with hawks and falcons and owls and an eagle. Very cool.
That being said, if anyone has any neat ideas for jobs I might pursue given that I will most likely finish my education in physics, let me know.
And go listen to Carbon Leaf. They make me happy.
*whistly thingummer-By situating my hands just so and blowing through my thumbs, I can produce whistly sounds of a wide variety of pitch and loudness with a fairly good amount of accuracy. Todd taught me how back in fifth or sixth grade or so, and after however many years of practice I think I have it down.

Umm...
Cam, you're the best. The whistly thingummer is probably the coolest thing ever. Especially since I learned it originally to annoy my sister. keep updating.
